WHO WE ARE
COPYRIGHT 2008. FRIENDS OF BIG FOOT BEACH STATE PARK. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
The Friends of Big Foot Beach State Park was founded in
the fall of 2005 by a few local citizens who saw an
opportunity to be stewards of a local natural treasure. A
members-based group lead by volunteers, The Friends of Big
Foot Beach State Park gathers monthly for organizational
meetings in order to oversee supplemental park programs,
projects, and events. The Friends group is part of a
statewide network of citizen groups who have "adopted" state
parks in order to support facility improvement, expand
programs, and important natural state resources.

Big Foot Beach State Park is one of the last natural
treasures in southern Walworth County. The park boasts many
natural and scenic experiences for outdoor enthusiasts, both
young and old. Lake Geneva is known for its clear, clean
water. A 100-foot swimming area is about a 10 minute walk
from the campground.

Share in family fun fishing in Ceylon Lagoon. You can reel
them in from our pier, two bridges or the lagoon bank.
Fishing equipment is loaned free of charge at the office.
Many enjoy canoeing or kayaking the lagoon as well.

The park has 5.5 miles of hiking trails through forest and
open meadow. Most trails are relatively short and range in
difficulty. Trails are also groomed in winter by Friends
volunteers for cross country skiing. The park provides other
ways of getting you outdoors with orienteering courses and a
self-guided nature trail with interpretive signs about interesting
natural phenomena along the trail.
